Summer Stretch

What is Summer Stretch?
Summer Stretch is a service and recreation summer program that seeks to form disciples and challenges youth to live out their faith within the community.

Who is it for?
Summer Stretch is open to all students who are entering grades 7–9 in 2019-2020. High school students entering grades 10–12 in 2019-2020, college students and adults may also participate as small group leaders.

The Details
Summer Stretch meets Thursdays in July/August from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. This year's dates are: July 11, July 18, July 25, and Aug. 1 and 8. Students will be given an opportunity to participate in various projects to provide service and stewardship to our community inspired by the Gospel. After lunch, they will have the opportunity to enjoy some fun in the sun!

PM: Bunker Beach Wave Pool

Week 2: Thursday, July 18
AM: Feed My Starving Children
PM: Movie

Week 3: Thursday, July 25
AM: Neighborhood Service Sites
PM: Beach

Week 4: Thursday, Aug. 1
AM: Twin Cities Service Sites
PM: Grand Slam

Week 5: Thursday, Aug. 8
All day: Valleyfair

Participants: $175
Leaders: $75

The fee covers the weekly afternoon activity, t-shirt, transportation and Valleyfair admission.

Chaperones: Chaperones are volunteers 21 years or older who assist with supervision. Chaperones are present at service and recreation sites to help ensure the overall safety and well-being of the summer stretch group. If you volunteer to be a chaperone it is not expected that you will be able to assist every day of Summer Stretch; we are flexible at using adults when they are available.
